This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

We LOVE Summer

Baseball, swimming, and ice cream.....life doesn't get better than this!!!

John loves the pool and is doing very well at kicking!

Yesterday I told him if he rested in his bed for 45 minutes then we would go swimming (AGAIN) when he was done. He did great...read a few books and laid in his bed quietly. As soon as I walked into his room to get him he started signing....swim, swim, swim!

He is so stinkin smart!

We have also entered new territory with our little Missy. As of today, I am officially pregnant longer than I have EVER been...24 weeks and 6 days gestation. Yesterday was a big milestone for us....it was the day I delivered John (gestation wise.) My next goal is 28 weeks (and then 32, 34, and 36.) I am confident I will make it...and know that God has big plans for this little family of mine.

WOW!

Now that is one FABULOUS smiley face......and my little man drew it all by himself!

He also sat by Miss. Megan (his teacher....who by the way is the most amazing teacher there is and John loves her to death) yesterday during music time and SANG and did the motions to ALL the songs.

I am one proud Momma!!!! Daddy couldn't be more proud either. We are truly blessed.

Bonding Time

Daddy and John said they HAD to run an errand this morning.....little did I know what they would come home with!
I now have a pitching mound/batting cage set up in my living room:)

Daddy got him all set up.....including his very first left handed fielding glove.

Fresh Breath

I know I sound like a broken record but, I am so proud of my little guy!!!!
We first took John to the dentist when he was 1 years old......they have been putting fluoride on his teeth every 6 months. Well, last week he got his teeth cleaned for the first time (2nd attempt though...1st attempt was 6 months ago.) His teeth were flossed, polished and the whole nine yards.....and he took it like a champ!!!!!
I couldn't be more proud to be the Mommy of this amazing little boy!!!

In other big news.....he ate an entire piece of pizza yesterday at Chuck E. Cheeses.

Elmo Live!

On Sunday, our family and three of my best friends (Brittany, Corrie, and Shannon) and their families headed down to Dodge Theater to see Elmo Live!!!!

John (and the rest of the gang) had a blast. It was so fun to watch him dance and sing along during the show.

We can't wait until July 27th.....so we can go back and see the Wiggles live!!!

Emma and John sharing a hug during intermission...

...and a kiss!!!!

And yes, I believe in arranged marriages (only to my friends kids)...tee hee!!!!

Blayee's face says it all!

Little Miss Ciera looking as cute as ever.

Brayden giving his little sis a kiss.

Enjoying the show.

Doesn't he look like a big boy sitting in that chair?

He stood like this and danced almost the entire show....when the music got louder, he danced faster:)

It was definitely a fun day spent with GREAT friends!

Life is Great!

Things are going very well in the Birtch home. John amazes us daily and we are so proud of him.
He can now...
  • Say (or try to say) a ton of new words
  • Draw a fabulous smile face...ears, hair, and all!
  • He can almost write his name...he has the J and o and part of the h!
  • Can eat an entire order of fries from In and Out:)
  • He's trying a lot of new foods
  • Gives the tightest hugs....he'll even grunt so you know how tight it is:)

Ohhhhh...and he also loves stickers.....if you couldn't tell. He placed them all over his face and kept them there a good chunk of the day.
