This is the amazing journey of our two miracles. John Craig was born on November 30, 2005 at 24 weeks and 5 days gestation. He weighed 1 pound 8 ounces and was 12 inches long. John is a true miracle and an inspiration to all that meet him! Hope Amanda, our perfect little girl, is currently recovering from two brain surgeries to remove a 6cm mass from the center of her brain. Hope represents everything good in this world and she too is an inspiration to all.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

We are extremely thankful for our wonderful family and friends, our health and our happiness....and, for all of the things that John CAN do!

He is a pro at walking and gets going pretty fast now. My poor 95 year old Grandma just about got run over by him yesterday! There is no stopping this little man of mine!!!!

The look on John's face is priceless!

A Birthday To Remember!

We had a fabulous time at John's 3rd birthday party.....the weather was perfect , the pizza and cupcakes were delicious, and the company was the BEST!!!!!!

John thoroughly enjoyed his pizza......hmmmmm, and they said he'd never eat!

Who isn't happy after a belly full of pizza?

I think he's sad because he ate all of his pizza!!!!

John's 3rd birthday cake! Thanks Grams!

Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday to you.....

Connor and Jamie in a deep conversation about police officers:):):)

Sarah and Vienna!

Corrie and Ciera!

All the kids LOVED their party favors.....John used his glow in the dark necklace as a drumstick...

.....and to stick in his nose and act like a walrus!!!

He was very intrigued by the dancing light show!

Daddy trying to warm his hands up!

Papa, Aunt Jean, and Grammy

Mommy, Daddy, Grams and Grandpa

I still cannot believe it has been 3 years since my little boy was born. It has been the hardest and the happiest 3 years of my life.....and I wouldn't change it for anything!

Our Little Monkey

Well, tonight is our little monkey's 3rd birthday party.
With a few minor setbacks and a lot of team work, Mommy and Daddy just finished up John's cupcakes.

We'll be heading off to the Phoenix Zoo in about an hour.....pizza, cupcakes, hot cocoa, and Zoolights....I don't think it gets much better than this!!!!!

Gotta Wear Shades!

We had another successful riding day yesterday and to top it off Ms. Danielle (his PT) gave him a cool pair of green shades to wear.

And....he wore them the entire ride!!!

He is just too stinking cute, green sunglasses and all:)

1st Birthday Gift!

John received a package in the mail this weekend.........from 2 of our favorite girls!
He did well unwrapping his gift and only ate a couple pieces of the wrapping paper:)

He LOVES his books....as you can see, he's hugging them in the last picture!

Grace and Ruby, thank you so much! We miss you and wish you were here.

Poco

Finally an update about yesterday!

John and Ms. Danielle (his PT) walking up the ramp

Waiting for John's horse, Poco

Getting ready to hop aboard

Straightening his helmet

And they're off

Enjoying his ride on a warm November day....will it cool down already?

Shooting some hoops....his favorite part of the entire day!

As you can see, Hippotherapy was a success.....John LOVED it!

It was completely safe (PT on one side, spotter on the other, and a walker in front) and Mommy wasn't worried one bit. The PT and the spotter have a hold of him the entire time (they are holding on to straps that are hooked on that belt he is wearing.)

They do a variety of activities while on the horse to work different muscles and work on trunk control. His favorite by far was shooting hoops into the basket. I wasn't allowed to be with him but from where I was sitting on the patio I could see him sign, "more, more" and then clap for himself every time he made a basket.

He was exhausted after his ride and slept the entire 40 minute ride home!!!!!! I guess we need to buy him a horse if we want him to take naps again. Grandpa, I believe you were supposed to buy Craig one when he turned 10......since that never happened, why don't you buy your favorite grandson one?

We can't wait for Monday (we switched days next week because his birthday party is on Friday and I didn't want him to be worn out) for his next ride.

Hippotherapy

Here is a sneak peak at John's first Hippotherapy (FYI....Hippo means horse in Greek) session today!

Stayed tuned for a real update.....I have a little man that needs to get in the tub and go to bed, a kitchen to clean, and laundry to fold.

Overboard

Well, tonight my little man went UP and OVER and out of his crib......and landed head first on the floor. Picture him diving off the side of his crib......all of his weight landed on his head and neck.

I was lying on the floor in his room (trying to get him to sleep) and all of a sudden he pulled himself up and went head first out of the crib and onto the floor.

I panicked (I don't know how anyone can stay calm when your baby is hurt)....thinking the worst, of course. But after he calmed down and caught his breath (and after I called Daddy and then Grandpa) I looked him over and he was fine. Grandpa suggested I keep him up for an hour though....just to watch him and make sure everything was OK!

So, that was my excitement for the night! I am now off to search the internet for Toddler beds. Operation Big Boy Bed....here we come!
